I heard Ram Dass mention it…

I was going through my awakening. I was starting to be more aware and more in the Moment of my thoughts and actions. I stumbled upon Ram Dass lectures and he resonated with me, I listened and listened to him talking and to his stories of self-discovery.

In one lecture he mentioned a line from the Xin Xin Ming that states, “The Way is not difficult for those who have no preferences.” And he made a comment about chewing on that for awhile, or something funny, the crowd laughed, but I was intrigued. I wanted to know what this line was a part of and what teachings it held.

Now, going back a little, I was writing daily, sometimes for hours on various topics: love, heartbreak, my journey, attachment, your higher self….the list goes on and on. I would wake up, sit down, and it would come pouring out of me. My wife would ask what it was I was writing about and I would have to go back and read it because I had no clue!

Forward again to the line that captivated me. I looked up the transcript, read it, and it spoke to me on such a deep level, I had to read it again and again. I then printed it out, and how the printer separated it, I used it to interpret how we could use the teachings in this ancient paper, to today’s world. I had a focus! I loved writing about random things, but this would become my project of love now…..
